Chemische eigenschap/beschrijving

Kleureigenschappen: lichtgeel kristallijn poeder. Gevoelig voor vochtige lucht en licht. Onoplosbaar in water. Onoplosbaar in benzeen, propylalcohol en ethanol. Smeltpunt: 172 ~ 175ºC.

Belangrijkste toepassingen:

1. Gebruikt als chromogeen middel voor de spectrofotometrische bepaling van sporen.

2. Voor de fotometrische bepaling van antimoon. Gecombineerd met Fe2+ wordt NO gedetecteerd in de hersenen, nieren, lever en andere weefsels, terwijl NO en pO2 direct worden gemeten.

3. Als chelerend middel voor koper wordt het ook gebruikt voor de kwantitatieve analyse van koper in biologisch materiaal door middel van ESR.

4. Remmer van superoxide dismutase, ascorbaatoxidase en andere enzymen. Remming van NO-synthetase in macrofagen.

NO in de hersenen, nieren, lever en andere weefsels kan worden gedetecteerd door Fe2+-gekoppelde spinvangst. Er is gerapporteerd dat geëxciteerd NO* en pO2 direct en gelijktijdig kunnen worden bepaald. Als chelerend middel voor koper kan ESR worden gebruikt om koper in biologisch materiaal kwantitatief te analyseren. Het is tevens een remmer van superoxide dismutase, ascorbaatoxidase en andere enzymen; Reagens voor de bepaling van het gehalte (Nationale Standaard Nieuwe methode).
